Firecore Infuse Pro Review: A Promising Start with Room for Improvement

As an avid Plex user, I was thrilled to try out the Firecore Infuse Pro alpha release. While it's undeniable that this initial version shows promise, there are several areas where refinement is needed to make it a seamless experience.

One of the most frustrating issues I encountered during playback was the random volume fluctuations and the inconsistent behavior of the audio controls. Every time I tried to adjust the volume or playback speed, it would randomly change without me initiating the action. This became particularly annoying when trying to watch videos while eating, as the sudden changes in volume would be startling.

Another issue that caught my attention was the UI control for Audio and Playback slider, which seemed off-kilter. Although my Plex server reported Direct Play on both audio and video for 4K content, I couldn't validate whether the playback quality matched the specs of the video. Moreover, I didn't see an option to configure this in the Plex settings.

Syncing content from Plex was another area where I experienced differences compared to the iPad app. The behavior of how the content is synced seemed to vary between the two platforms, which can lead to confusion and frustration for users.

One feature that would greatly enhance the playback experience is a smart aspect ratio option, similar to what Apple TV+ offers. This would automatically remove black bars and ensure a more immersive viewing experience.

Lastly, I encountered some issues with the screen/window behavior during playback. While it's possible to work around this by using the iPad app, it's inconvenient to have to switch between apps just to maintain connectivity with Plex.

Overall, despite these minor setbacks, I'm impressed with the Firecore Infuse Pro alpha release and look forward to seeing future builds address these issues. As a heavy Plex user, I appreciate the alternative of having a dedicated app for streaming content on my device. With some fine-tuning, I believe this app has the potential to become an excellent solution for Plex enthusiasts.
